The Beatello-JBK Roto Toms are a simple, affordable way to bring that classic rotating-rim percussion sound into your setup.
The set includes 6”, 8”, and 10” toms mounted on a sturdy height-adjustable stand, and it delivers far more than I expected for the price.
Build and Design
Out of the box, assembly was a breeze. Everything is intuitive and straightforward, and the stand is surprisingly stable with no wobble or shifting, even when tuning or striking the drums harder.
The overall build quality feels solid. The metal frames are well-constructed and the tuning mechanisms operate smoothly.

The only corners cut seem to be in the smaller hardware connections: the bolts that secure each drum feel like lower-grade metal compared to the rest of the setup. Still, once locked in, nothing slips or rattles.
Despite what the product description says about birch wood chambers, these drums are entirely metal. There’s no wood anywhere inside, which is consistent with how traditional roto toms are built.
Sound and Performance
Pitch range is impressive. Each drum can sweep through a wide spectrum of notes by rotating the rim, and you can easily create distinct intervals across the three toms. It’s one of the more responsive budget roto tom sets I’ve tried.
The heads are bright and sensitive, maybe too bright for my taste, but that’s a common characteristic of roto toms in general.
They have that sharp, thin, metallic attack that cuts through a mix but lacks the warmth of shelled toms. Some light dampening helps tame the overtones, though even without it, the tone is clean and consistent.
There’s no mechanical noise or rattling to speak of, and the tuning motion is smooth enough that you could even adjust pitch mid-performance without issues.
Usability and Value
In terms of usability, these are as plug-and-play as it gets. Setup takes minutes, and the adjustable stand is rock solid. Whether you want to use them as a side piece in your drum kit or as a standalone trio for creative effects, they’re easy to position and play.

The value here is excellent. For the price, this is the cheapest way to get a functioning set of roto toms that actually sound good.
While they’re not something every drummer needs, they’re perfect for drummers who just want more sound options, schools that need percussion instruments on a budget, or studio players chasing a specific color or effect.
Final Thoughts
Roto toms will always be a niche instrument, but for anyone curious about adding them to their sonic palette, the Beatello-JBK Drums Roto Toms are an easy recommendation.
They deliver on the core promise — fast tuning, wide pitch range, solid tone — without the price tag of Remo’s classic models. Just don’t expect birch shells, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I will be swapping out the heads to Remo dots or pinstripes, but for now, the stock heads work just fine. Keep an eye out on my TikTok page for videos of the set.
